Job Description

Join Takeda as a Data Scientist/Engineer in “Technology Development and Implementation” a part of Biotherapeutics Process Development, where you will be involved in the model-based approach of designing and evaluating Upstream and Downstream process development experiments with a focus on the data structure and automation of data flow, analysis and visualization. You will be recognized as a technical expert within your own department and across division for data driven tasks and data science in support of Digital CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) capability development. As part of the global process technology function, you will report to the Head of Modeling and Data Science

Your new opportunity:

  • Working in highly motivated and innovative Biotherapeutics Process Development team
    • Work closely together with modeling experts on data flow automation
    • Work closely with the continuous processing team on data structure, equipment automation and the development of automated data analysis
    • Establish a security barrier via a logical control algorithm to ensure the accuracy of the analytically collected data.
    • Work closely together with analytical experts in development and application of Process Analytical Technology
    • Independent planning in consultation with the department manager about tasks to establish a digital architecture
    • Knowledge sharing with global internal and external partners
    • Present accomplishments within the team, across other functions, internal and external collaboration partners, and at scientific conferences
    • Participation in cost-benefit planning for digital tasks
  • Implement solutions for Digital Architecture
    • In consultation with R&D IT select technology and implement on unit operations
    • Support development and implementation of Plug & Produce solutions
    • Define automation tasks and work packages as standard for future development labs
    • Development of a platform for automated experimental planning
    • Evaluate technology/software with internal and external partners
    • Assistance in the expansion of the electronic lab notebook
  • Generate innovative process solutions focused on automation, digitalization and advanced control strategies
    • Work together with the continuous processing team to establish predictive closed-loop control of critical attributes on relevant quantities for batch and continuous processing
    • Improve productivity by means of operational excellence
    • Increase capabilities and capacity by collaborations with external partners

The Skills You Need:

  • Team player
  • Outside of the box thinking
  • Passion for Digitalization and Automation of bioprocesses
  • Advanced university degree in Bioinformatics or IT engineering discipline
  • Several years of relevant working experience in academia and/or industry preferably
  • Advanced programming skills e.g. Python, Matlab
  • Basic knowledge in bioprocesses, continuous processing
  • Fluent in English

Motivated employees must be remunerated appropriately. The minimum salary for this important and responsible position is 3.557,47 gross per month (full time, collective wage agreement for the chemical industry). The actual remuneration package will be guided by your professional experience and your qualifications, so increased payment is possible
